One of my favorite ways to work with Reiki & the Reiki Symbols- Social Anxiety & the Witch Wound

For me, one of the most helpful ways to work with Reiki & some of the Reiki Symbols (taught in Level 2) is to change the energy of an uncomfortable situation or interaction either before it happens, or after the fact.

I haven’t really ever thought of myself as someone who gets social anxiety, but I’m realizing lately as I’m working through healing my ancestral lineage that I do have a lot of anxiety around social interactions! It’s not so much anxiety during the interactions (most anxiety that comes up for me during interactions tends more to be me picking up on others’ anxiety which, once I realize, I’m then able to separate from) but afterwards I find myself lingering on certain things that I said. Most of my fear is around feeling misunderstood, and how that misunderstanding is out of my control once the words leave my mouth and the moment has past.

It SUCKS feeling powerless in this way. It’s a huge wound within me that I’m being asked to heal. I’ve come to realize that the root is a fear of persecution stemming from my lineage as a Jewish Koheness. Pretty much since the beginning of Jewish Culture, my people were being blamed, misunderstood & persecuted, just for being them. *Here is my big ancestral healing work*!

Luckily for me, modern persecution in America doesn’t come in the form of physical death. It now comes in this strange way of people trolling on the internet (which I haven’t quite put myself out there enough to receive, but that’s more where I’m being asked to step into), or people pointing the finger saying you’re offensive with or without them looking at their own portion of healing being asked. As I write that last line I feel the fear in me saying it’s not safe to say that! But it’s interesting that my body and nervous system recognize it all in the same way- as a danger to my life; saying it’s not safe to speak up or stand in my power.

As I go further into healing this wounding, I am using many practices to help me come back to my Self- drumming, prayer, working with Tobacco, meditation, ritual, visualization, self-empowerment coaching from my partner Kristian, and REIKI!

To me, one of the coolest ways that I have worked with Reiki is to change the energy around an event or interaction. With the symbols learned in Reiki 2 {Come join us March 3rd-5th for the training!} You can transcend space & time to send healing Reiki energy to a past or future event.

I hold in my space the event that I wish to work with. I then draw 3 Reiki symbols to tap into that event energetically and then I start sending the Reiki energy to it. I have had some of the coolest healing come from this practice! I’ve had people who have been mean to me all of a sudden shift and be kinder. And more importantly, I can feel myself stop dwelling and reliving an event of stress and feel calmness and peace around it. It is POWERFUL and I’m so glad I have this tool and actually used it for this purpose!

If you’re interested in joining the upcoming Shamanic Reiki Levels 1&2 Training, March 3rd-5th 2023, email me! I’m also offering a fun little discount of $100 off the training for anyone who writes me a poem! Email me here for more details and to send your poem over :)

How to work with plants as an ally

I like to think of working with plants as an ally the same way you try to make new friends. Introduce yourself and begin to create a relationship with it. Spend time with the plants, listen to them, bring them gifts and love and they will soon open up to sharing their gifts with you!

Herbal Ally- Rue!

Ruuuuda Ruda Ruee! ( My little Rue chant)

Rue is a magnificent herb. It is a power plant that is fully of fire! Watch out! Because if you rub her on your skin and then spend time in the sun- Her volatile oils will cause extreme 2nd degree burns!

She is a great ally for dreaming, healing, and standing in your power. You can actually receive healing directly from her with a sniff and a nibble. Rue is a good thing to self-dose. Taking small bites intuitively. You can definitely over-do it with Rue, resulting in a kind of “burn out” where you might just have to nap for the rest of the day- which isn’t necessarily a bad thing and can be very healing, but make sure you do it on the right day for you!

Herbal Ally- Yellow Dock

Yellow Dock is easily one of the plants that I get most excited about in the Spring. The spring roots are stimulating and can be decocted to make a liver tonic that will stimulate your liver, replace the iron in your body, and purify your blood and relieve constipation. Yellow dock is also mucilaginous so it helps us to coat our mucous membranes so our bodies can function properly. Energetically, the mucilaginous ways show up for its ability to make things slippery so we can release them with ease.

I love using Yellow Dock in replacement of any green that I might buy in the stores. I like to make pestos, tea, eat them raw, or add them to smoothies! It is also nice to mix and match your wild greens for different textures/tastes. The seeds later in the season are also delicious and nutritious and can be added to shakes, oatmeal, pancakes, and more!
