I am Earth-Centered Shamanic Healer, Reiki Master/Teacher, and Folk Herbalist working under the Yucatec Maya Healing Tradition of Miss Beatrice Waight of Santa Familia, Belize. Join me to learn how to weave baskets made from Pine Needles! This is one of my favorite things to do! It is a great, all natural craft that is not only a useful skill, but is actually a way to weave magik and prayer into your life. Through the making of each basket, we are given the opportunity to infuse prayer and intention with each stitch. Through this process we can anchor our prayer into reality and help shift the energy within and around us. This is a potent practice! Since the beginning of time and in every culture, people wove with intention. Baskets, blankets, clothing, flags. Often imbued with prayers of protection, strength, health, abundance, joy, fertility, etc., our ancestors knew that this practice works! And it does. Through weaving Pine Needle Baskets, I have dramatically changed and shifted my life in many ways. Let me show you the way and let’s see what you can create! Come explore with me!

Through making Pine Needle Baskets I was inspired to start making Pine Needle Rattles! I will offer a Pine Needle Rattle class later this Summer/Fall. Participants MUST take this PNBasket class first so you have a base of knowledge/practice!

🌱 Spring Plant Class

Want to learn how to be supported by local spring plants?

The plants are coming back! Get your body moving again with the herbal support from the first plants of Spring! 

We will learn to identify the local spring plants, work with them for physical, emotional and spiritual wellness, and harvest and make nourishing foods and healing medicines to keep us healthy all year long. In this earth-centered way of working with plants, they have everything we need to help us shift into spring after a long winter’s rest. No modern cleansing needed! The medicines and foods we will make during this class are an annual communal ritual and necessity in my circles. Without these staples, life just doesn’t feel right! Some plants we will probably work with include: Yellow Dock, Dandelion, Cleavers, Violet, Burdock, Nettles, Motherwort, Lemon Balm, Malva, Hemlock (not internally!). Beginners and experienced herbal lovers alike thrive in this class!

Some of the things we will indulge in and make are: Pestos, Wild Salad, Herbal infused Vinegars, Tinctures, Honeys & more!

Spring plants help us to get things moving after being slow and internal from the winter months. During the class we will be working closely with the plants to learn their healing ways, both physically and energetically. The springtime is full of abundance and the plants have a lot to offer! Come join Julia Lyons and Esther Meima for a day with dandelion and violet to celebrate the arrival of spring! We will be focusing on the magic and healing that these two beloved plants offer as we "spring back to life" after the winter season. During this class we will have the opportunity to connect deeply with both dandelion and violet-- learning their energetic and physical healing properties, tasting and preparing various recipes, and harvesting plants to take home. The day will offer us an opportunity to fully engage with the energy of spring, recharge our spirits after the winter season, and enliven and rebalance our bodies with the nourishing properties of spring dandelion and violet leaf. Depending on the timing of the violet flower bloom, we also hope to immerse ourselves in the exuberance that this precious spring flower offers for uplifting our spirits. We will be learning about how to make the most out of these two precious plants by making a wide variety of herbal concoctions, including vinegars, tinctures, oils, honeys, butters, pestos and more!

Julia and Esther will have nourishing snacks and tea available made from wild spring plants. Please bring a potluck lunch dish to share with ingredients listed.
